Collectors and players get ready because Gods Unchained just announced a new expansion, Dread Awakening, scheduled to land on April 22nd! Expanding the available card selections for this fantasy, TCG game, Dread Awakening also introduces new, powerful abilities and seven, unique, Mythic variants!
A new card set, known as Dread Awakening, arrives soon in Gods Unchained! This set will contain 132 new cards, including thirteen legendary cards, and two new card mechanics — Dreadtouched, and Elderytch Mystery!
Dreadtouched abilities activate by sacrificing a creature your control. Which when paired with Afterlife effects sounds like a pretty sweet setup! We don’t have a good description for Elderytch Mystery yet, but it seems like it may be an upgradeable card? I expect the Gods Unchained team will reveal more information soon.
Dead Awakening will include Mythic variants, versions of legendary cards with unique, one-of-a-kind art! Seven total in this set. Once all seven have been found, three special Promo cards will become discoverable in premium packs. Premium packs can only be purchased. Packs earned through promotions or as rewards are considered Reward packs and won’t even contain these Promo cards.
Crafting in Dread Awakening
Eighteen of the cards – six rare, six epic, and six legendary — will only be available through crafting. Crafting is a relatively new feature in Gods Unchained, requiring players to sacrifice a specific selection of cards to craft the new ones. Crafting new cards is always limited, with the crafting options tied to specific sets, and closing when the sale for that set ends.
Dread Awakening will also bring a change to Legendary crafting. Epic cards used during crafting will now downgrade to Meteorite Shine. Though technically, I think that the input cards are still burned, and crafters will instead receive new, Meteorite versions of the epics.
