‘League of Kingdoms’ Expands Into ‘Arena-Z’ as New Games and Tokens Emerge

League of Kingdoms, a long-running blockchain massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, or MMORTS, is expanding into a multi-game ecosystem called Arena-Z. With that, a pair of additional games are launching soon, along with fresh tokens and a fund to encourage additional community development.

The Arena-Z ecosystem will welcome two additional games by the end of the quarter: League of Kingdoms Chronicle, a dungeon-crawling role-playing game (RPG) that supports the original game’s NFT heroes, and League of Kingdoms Hunters, an idle RPG that gives players an “always-on” way to boost progression. Both are currently in beta testing.

“We’re not just rebranding—we’re evolving from a single game into a gaming ecosystem with deep Asian roots,” 3MERGED COO Han Yoo told Decrypt. “League of Kingdoms proved Web3 gaming could achieve mainstream success with 5 million players and remarkable longevity, maintaining our community over 5 years. But we realized the future isn’t about one great game—it’s about connected gaming universes where your progress never stops.”

All three games run on the same OP Superchain network, Arena-Z Chain, which is powered by Ethereum layer-2 Optimism tech, and is designed to enable unified on-chain progression between them. Yoo said that like the main game, the blockchain features are bonuses and not required, but enable “deeper experiences” for players.

“Progress gets supercharged with blockchain tech when data streams and item ownership flow across games on blockchain rails,” said Yoo. “Arena-Z represents our vision of ‘Your Play Never Stops’—where achievements, assets, and rewards flow seamlessly across multiple titles.”

Yoo added that the next two games are “baby steps” towards a broader ecosystem that they envision can support “infinite” games tied to the same IP.

Part of that shift involves a new token called A2Z, which holders of the game’s current LOKA token can swap for at a 1:20 ratio beginning July 28. Exchanges like Binance and Gate will support the new token, and Yoo said that it is designed to fuel cross-game rewards and a larger ecosystem, including externally developed games.

Arena-Z will also launch a non-governance HT token on its network that’s specifically designed for League of Kingdoms Hunters. The token will be issued for each in-game season, typically lasting about four weeks, and used to help fuel onboarding and engagement to the new game. Arena-Z community governance will help determine HT allocations.

In an effort to attract builders, Arena-Z has launched a $20 million ecosystem fund to try and bring in quality games along with apps and infrastructure to benefit players.
