Unique Network, a Polkadot-based parachain specializing in composable NFTs, recently minted a staggering 4930 NFTs per minute, setting a new record surpassing other major blockchains. This achievement was accomplished through the minting of Bounty Hunter Tickets (BHTs) for the interactive Web3 game, Forever Has Fallen.
Forever Has Fallen: NFTs in an Interactive Universe
Minted with Unique Network, Forever Has Fallen is able to bring its NFT features into its interactive universe at record-breaking speed. Developed by Incite, the game combines on-demand audio dramas with online escape room challenges, creating an intriguing narrative journey. For instance, as fans explore websites, engage with social media profiles, participate in interactive messaging, and discover hidden content, they receive digital rewards. A key element, the Bounty Hunter Tickets (BHTs), grants players entry to the Hunters Lair, within the game’s metaverse.
The project’s developers tested multiple blockchain networks to assess key aspects like gas fees, minting speed, and general performance. This evaluation included minting three sets of 100,000 NFTs, concluding that Polkadot’s infrastructure best fit their large-scale NFT minting needs.
Unique Network and Polkadot: Empowering Web3 Gaming
This accomplishment showcases Polkadot‘s strengths and establishes the layer-0 protocol as an appealing choice for Web3 gaming initiatives that need fast NFT distribution to users. Leveraging Unique Network’s technology and Polkadot’s SDK, Forever Has Fallen can transfer thousands of NFTs at exceptional speeds, enhancing its narrative-rich metaverse’s influence.
Kimon Lycos, the Founder and CEO of Incite, the production studio responsible for Forever Has Fallen, emphasized the importance of seamless gameplay, stating, “Because our production is first and foremost about fun, we want Web3 elements to be under the hood, and to have this type of speed will enable a Web2 type experience of instant gratification.”
Furthermore, Alexandar Mitrovic, CEO of Unique Network, highlighted the flexibility and capacity for optimization within the Polkadot ecosystem, stating, “We are free to optimize the code and forklessly upgrade the chain. Our core developers have been waiting for an opportunity to test a series of performance improvement ideas on a large scale. Forever Has Fallen gave them the opportunity to present a business case that talks to mass consumers.”
Finally, Polkadot’s Core developers plan to integrate Asynchronous Backing (AB). They expect this enhancement to further boost network performance and efficiency, potentially ushering in a new era of innovation in blockchain and NFTs.
