TL;DR
-
The crypto development platform, Sequence, has launched what it’s calling ‘Builder,’ which is a simple game development plugin that packs a punch.
-
It allows devs to seamlessly integrate NFT items, in-game currencies and marketplaces, to new or existing games (plus more).
-
If this thing can live up to the hype, it means Web3 games are about to get a whole lot easier to build and play!
Full Story
Do you know how to code a button on a website?
Neither. But who cares!
Web designing platforms have gotten so good, that even if you’re building a web site, all you need to know how to do is drag n’ drop.
Late last year, we played around with a few game development engines and two things became very clear:
-
We were WAY out of our depths.
-
There was no “plug n’ play” solution for adding Web3 functionality to a game. (If you wanted to integrate blockchain to your game, you’d be coding it all from scratch – yikes!).
Looks like we may now be able to label that second point as ‘Moot.’
The crypto development platform, Sequence, has launched what it’s calling ‘Builder,’ which is a simple game development plugin that packs a punch.
Here’s what it does:
-
Plugs into existing major game engines like Unity and Unreal.
-
Allows devs to seamlessly integrate NFT items, in-game currencies and marketplaces, to new or existing games.
-
Provides built-in crypto wallet connection functionality.
-
Allows users to set up their in-game wallet with as little as an email address or Twitch login connection.
If this thing can live up to the hype, it means Web3 games are about to get a whole lot easier to build and play!
We’re here for it.
