Dark Country brings something new to their goth-western TCG in the form of Soul Cards. These cards have a unique ability to transform once every thirty days into a different card!
Though it doesn’t get as much attention as other, larger TCGs, Dark Country continues to move forward, developing and growing their game. One of the latest developments, Soul Cards, bring a new angle on deck building to the game. Once every thirty days, these Soul Cards can be transformed into a different card!
Once acquired, players must then stake their Soul Card in the staking section of the land layer gameplay. After that, under the Remove Assets section, Soul Card owners will be able to transform their card. This triggers a cooldown on the transformation feature, and withdrawal of the Soul Card. Once the thirty days have expired, players can withdraw their Soul Card or transform it again.
This new feature gives players a chance to try out a number of different cards without having to purchase them, which is kind of cool. Soul Cards can be purchased on Atomic Hub with a current floor price of 1,250 WAX (~$68 USD).

But this isn’t all that Dark Country has been up to over the past few months. They are also expanding their multi-chain presence, releasing a collection on Immutable X known as The Cursed. This set will feature forty new cards and should go on sale in early August. There is still time to sign up for an early access spot which also includes discounted packs. And they recently announced that their game is now available on the Ultra platform. Ultra is another competitor in the field of game distribution platforms. They are creating a system for tokenization of digital games (known as Uniqs), allowing owners of paid games the ability to resell it to other players! They also have a growing number of projects joining their platform, including, most recently, Oxya Origin.

What is Dark Country?
Dark Country is a collectible, trading card game built on the WAX blockchain. It features a gothic horror /western theme with cowboys, guns, demons, magic, and undead minions! Dark Country plays like other TCGs you might be familiar with such as MTG, Hearthstone, and Gods Unchained. Players spend mana, play cards from their hand, and try to reduce the opponent’s health to zero.
Dark Country is free to play. The game provides a set of starter cards for everyone to play with. Players can also use their own NFT cards to build decks. Dark Country features play-to-earn options via regular tournaments, special Play the Pros events, and by engaging in the land gameplay.
The land gameplay for Dark Country centers around passive questing, staking SDM tokens, and engaging with bounties for battling other players. The game token, Shadow Dimes or SDM are used to upgrade their buildings and as pay for bounties. Shadow Dimes exist on both the WAX and FLOW blockchains.
