Cryptopunks Collection Sees Another Major Sale With $12.41M Transaction
In 2024, another significant transaction involving Cryptopunk #635 took place on Apr. 25, fetching 4,000 ETH or $12.41 million. It’s among the rare group of nine alien-themed punks and boasts two distinctive traits: a bandana and sunglasses. A total of 3,560 Cryptopunks display these two features, including 481 with bandanas and 527 sporting sunglasses.
This event followed the sale of Cryptopunk #7,804 on March 20, 2024, which garnered 4,850 ethereum (ETH), worth approximately $16.38 million. Earlier, on March 4, Cryptopunk #3100 was sold for 4,500 ether, amounting to $16 million. The record for the highest sale remains with punk #5822, an alien-themed punk with a bandana.
Punk #5,822 achieved a sale price of 8,000 ether or $23 million on Feb. 12, 2022. Chain CEO Deepak Thapliyal is reputed to own this most expensive punk. At 4,000 ETH or $12.41 million, Cryptopunk #635 exceeded the price of Cryptopunk #7,523, which sold for 4,700 ETH. Currently, the Cryptopunks collection holds a floor value of 36.89 ETH or $115,274.
