NeoDashboard has announced War on Bugs, a new single-player strategy game that blends procedurally generated maze exploration, card-based combat, and a robust character progression system. The team notes that the game is live on Neo N3 TestNet at a “largely feature-complete stage” and all are invited to test it out.

In War on Bugs, players choose one of four characters — Professor Dashboard, Snakey, Dashbored, or Da — each offering unique playstyles and base skills. Professor Dashboard is balanced and adaptable, Snakey excels in stealth and critical strikes, Dashboard favors brute force, and Da offers control and resource-focused strategies.

Players navigate ever-changing maze environments, confronting hostile bugs while fulfilling objectives and optional challenges for extra rewards. Encounters trigger turn-based combat where players deploy custom-built decks, taking advantage of card synergies, bug weaknesses, and resource limitations.

Character upgrades are powered by “Bugdust,” an in-game currency earned through battles and treasure chests. Bugdust fuels a skill tree with perks such as Vitality Boost and Evasive Maneuvers, enabling players to refine their characters to match preferred strategies. Initially composed of 30 – 40 cards, decks can be enhanced through booster packs and a card upcycling system, where duplicate cards are combined to raise their levels and effectiveness.

Additional game features include:

  • Session Modifiers and Mini-Games: Temporary power-ups and post-stage mini-games add replayability and immediate advantages during a run.
  • Buggy Slots: A slot machine feature offering randomized Bugdust rewards.
  • NFT Integration: A forthcoming feature allowing players to mint high-level cards as NFTs for trading or collecting. Select high-level cards will also be available through limited-time in-game promotions.
